Prevalance of asthma and allergic diseases in children aged 6-7 in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Allergic diseases have become a global public health problem. The increased prevalence of allergy is such that currently between 20-30% of the world’s population suffer form of allergic disease. It is estimated that more than 80 million people in Europe suffer from some kind of allergic disease, and that by 2015 half of all Europeans will be similarly affected. Nevertheless, asthma and other allergic diseases are still considered under diagnosed and under treated, creating a substantial burden on individuals and families with significant impact on quality of life.
